ERROR MESSAGES 

MESSAGE 

MEANING / ACTION 

** QUALIFIER INVALID ** 

The qualifier which you have entered is not valid. Valid 

qualifiers are: 

null 

an existing Practice code 

an existing Practice code, followed by a 

comma, followed by a Surgery identifier 

(with no spaces) 

`I' or `I,Q' or `I,' followed by a specific HA 

Q code 

PRACTICE missing 

To enter  core  information for a Practice, a Practice 

Code is required. 

Enter a valid Practice code.

PRACTICE invalid 

The format of a valid Practice code must be either: 

           2NNNNN , where `N' represents a number ; or 

          ANNNNN , where `A' represents an alphabetic 

character and `N' represents a number. 

Enter a valid Practice code.

PRACTICE fixed 

Once established, a practice code cannot be amended. 

PRACTICE exists 

You have tried to enter  core  information for a new 

Practice, using a Practice Code which is already being 

used. 

Enter a different code for the new Practice.

NAME missing 

A new Practice must be given a name. 

Enter the name 

by which the Practice is commonly known.

NAME invalid 

The Practice name must not contain  special characters  

such as / \ , # | @     [ ] { } _ * ~ ^ $ or  . 

Enter a valid 

Practice name.

HA missing 

The Q Code of the Health Authority responsible for this 

Practice must be specified. 

Enter the HA Q Code.

HA invalid 

The Q Code which you have specified is not valid. 

Enter the correct Q Code for the responsible HA.

CIPHER changed 

A change of Q code is not permitted if this would mean 

that the home cipher gained or lost responsibility for the 

practice. 

DATE missing 

EITHER 

The `Date registered' or the `Date first registered' has 

not been entered.
