HG SCREEN
Understanding the Existing PCO Composition Screen
Top Part of the Screen
The top half of this screen allows users with FULL HG screen access rights to enter
details of a new composition for the PCO.
Start Date
Enter the date from which the new practice composition for this PCO is to start. This
must be later than the Start Date for the previous practice composition (shown in the
bottom half of the screen).
Practice Codes
Enter the National Practice Codes of
all
the practices that will be within this PCO with
effect from the start date you have just entered. Note that, even if you are only adding
one practice to a PCO which already contains several practices, you must still enter the
practice codes of
all
the practices who are remaining in the PCO as well as the new
practice code. Any practices whose codes are not entered will not be included in the
new PCO composition.
If the new Practice composition of the PCO is similar to the old composition, it may be
quicker to copy the old Practice composition into the new Practice composition fields,
and then to edit it by adding/deleting Practices as required. The old Practice
composition can be copied by entering an asterisk (`
*
') in the first Practice Code field,
and then pressing
.
A message SPECIAL MESSAGE PRACTICE CODE
FIELDS COPIED NOW AMEND AS NECESSARY will be displayed on line 2 of
the screen. You can then amend the list of Practice codes by deleting the codes of any
Practices that are no longer included in this PCO, and adding the codes of any new
Practices that are to be included.
Any practice codes that you add to the PCO must already be known to the system: in
other words, they must have already been entered on the PC (Practice Maintenance)
screen. An index of known practice codes (already entered via the PC screen) can be
viewed by entering a key of `PC' with a qualifier of `I'.
Any practices whose codes are added to this PCO must not belong to any other PCO as
of the Start Date you have specified. A practice can
only
belong to
one
PCO at any one
time.
It is possible to merge in the complete make up of one or more other PCOs by
entering all the Practice codes from within those PCOs. This will also have the effect of
ending the most recent configuration of those other PCOs, thus making them read
only.
Bottom Part of the Screen
The bottom half of the Existing PCO Composition screen allows you to view and/or
amend the current practice composition of the PCO, and the start date when that
composition commenced. Only users with FULL access rights to the HG screen can
make changes to the PCO composition.
