Website 

This field will either contain  *  to indicate that the surgery has a website, or will be 

blank to indicate that there is no website for this surgery.  You can use this field to 

assign a website address to the surgery, or amend an existing website address, via a pop 

up box. 

If the surgery has a website address, another pop up box is also available from this field, 

giving the GP code, GP name and Surgery address for all GPs who share this website. 

To enter/check/amend the surgery website address, position the cursor in this field, and 

then using the key control sequence defined on your system to bring up the pop up box.  

Normally, this will mean pressing the 

,

and

 L

 keys at the same time.  If 

the surgery has a website whose address has not yet been entered on the system, you can 

enter it in the pop up box.  If the surgery website address in the pop up box is incorrect, 

you can amend it. 

Certain characters may be encoded during input.  The insert, delete, backspace, home, 

and end keys are available to make it easier to edit an address. 

To remove the pop up box, press 

.  Any changes you have made will be 

retained on the system. 

To check which surgeries (if any) share this surgery's website,

position the cursor in this 

field, and then using the key control sequence defined on your system.  In this case, this 

will normally mean pressing the 

,

and

 <   >

 keys at the same time.  This 

pop up box is read only.  To remove it from the screen,  press 

. 

Note that if you modify the website address via this field, and then use the other pop 

up box to check which surgeries share the website, the pop up box will list surgeries 

which share the amended website address, although it has not yet been updated.  The 

GP surgery whose website address you have just modified will not be displayed in the 

list until the amended address has been updated on the system. 

Health Centre

 if it is not.  This field is mandatory. 

Geog. Area 

The geographic area used to identify the locality of the surgery.  This field is 

mandatory. 

You may enter the geographic area definition used by the Registration System 

(please 

refer to the Geographic Area Reference Manual

) or simply enter the county or district.
