Postcode cannot be entered if address is not present. 

POSTCODE invalid 

Must be a valid postcode format e.g. EX17 6SE or SW9 or 

EC2H 6LH. 

NAT CODE missing 

National code must be present. 

NAT CODE invalid 

Must be 6 numerics. 

NAT CODE exists 

Already assigned to someone on the database. 

GMC CODE missing 

GMC number must be present. 

GMC CODE invalid 

Must be 7 numerics. 

GMC is an Associate 

GMC number has already been assigned to an associate. 

GMC CODE exists 

QUERY message.  GMC code already held by another 

doctor. 

GMC Invalid Checksum 

The last digit of the GMC code is not a valid checksum. 

TRAINEE not on SL? 

QUERY message.  You have entered a Trainee GMC 

Number which has not yet been set up as a Supplementary 

List Doctor on the SL screen. 

SL Doctor not Trainee 

QUERY message.  You have entered a Trainee GMC 

Number for a Trainee who has been set up as a 

Supplementary List Doctor on the SL screen, but who is not 

working as a Registrar (i.e. the `working as' code on the SL 

screen is not set to `RG'). 

C TRY BIRTH missing 

Country of birth must be present. 

C TRY BIRTH invalid 

Must be a valid code as shown on screen FC. 

LAST POST missing 

Last post must be present. 

LAST POST invalid 

Characters allowed are 1 15. 

TEL. STD missing 

QUERY message.  No STD code has been entered. 

TEL. STD invalid 

Must be numeric if entered. 

TEL. NUMBER missing 

QUERY message.  No telephone number has been entered. 

TEL. NUMBER invalid 

Must be numeric if entered. 

INDICATOR missing 

Correspondence indicator must be entered. 

INDICATOR invalid 

Must be T, G or C. 

COR ADDRESS missing 

If indicator = C, correspondence address is mandatory. 

COR ADDRESS invalid 

Characters allowed are 0 9 A Z . ,     / ( ) and space.
