REJECT MESSAGE 

MEANING / ACTION 

QUALIFIER INVALID   PREFIX 

You have entered a qualifier with a slash ( / ) as the 

MUST BE `P' 

second character, but the first character is not `P'.  

To view banking details for a partnership, the 

qualifier must begin with `P/'. 

PARTNERSHIP START DATE 

The start date must be in the format 

INVALID 

DD.MM.YYYY. 

PARTNERSHIP DOES NOT EXIST 

You have entered a qualifier beginning with `P/' 

followed by the code of a single handed GP. 

NO PARTNERSHIP EXISTS FOR 

You have entered a qualifier containing a GP start 

THIS DATE 

date on which the partnership did not exist. 

METHOD missing 

Method of payment must be entered. 

METHOD invalid 

Characters allowed are B (BACS) or X for any 

other type of payment. 

A/C NAME missing 

Account name must be entered. 

A/C NAME invalid 

Characters allowed are A Z 0 9 . & /    and space. 

A/C No. missing 

Account number is required if method of payment 

code is B (BACS). 

A/C No. invalid 

Characters allowed are A Z 0 9   / and space. 

A/C No.>8 Char 

If required method of payment is B (BACS) then 

the account number can be no more than 8 

characters long. 

BS REF not reqd 

Building society reference is not required if method 

of payment is X. 

BS REF invalid 

Characters allowed are 0 9 . &   / and space. 

SORT CODE missing 

Bank sort code is required if method of payment is 

B (BACS). 

SORT CODE invalid 

Must be of the form 99 99 99
