GD SCREEN

The Assistant Details Screen

Assistant details are entered using a qualifier of 

A/GP code

.  The assistant details, 

including allowances for assistants, need to be set up on the AS screen first.  This option 

should be used only in the case of a single handed GP having one or more assistants.  It 

must not be used to attach an assistant to a GP who is a member of a partnership.  

Assistants within partnerships should be attached using the GP screen. 

This screen is used for setting up details of assistant contracts with the single handed 

GP.  It may also be used to enter: the assistant allowance entitlement for the GP,  the 

assistant contract start and end dates, and the assistant s salary.  These entries are used by 

the payment system to calculate the GP s and the assistant s superannuation. 

An assistant must be attached to the GD screen only if the GP is single handed.  If the 

GP is currently in a partnership, then the assistant(s) must be attached to the partnership 

using the GP screen.
