Understanding the Seniority Screen 

Reckonable NHS Service Start and End Dates 

This field is optional. A New Start Date and End Date may be entered or any existing 

dates amended or deleted. This records the NHS Service the GP has completed to 

becoming a Principal. 

 Post Principal Service Break Start and End Dates 

This field is optional. A New Start Date and End Date may be entered or any existing 

dates amended or deleted. This records any service breaks the GP has had. If these 

breaks start within 2 years of becoming a Principal the date from which the GP starts 

to accumulate seniority will be postponed by the service break. If the service breaks 

occur after 2 years of becoming Principal, the service breaks will not affect the 

seniority payments.
