GD SCREEN
Page 4 Seniority Screen
New GMS Seniority is payable to all current GPs, provided that they have completed
a minimum of two years reckonable NHS Service following initial appointment as a
GP Principal. The level at which New GMS Seniority is paid will depend on total
reckonable NHS Service since the Doctor's Date of Registration. Service is reckoned
as commencing from the Doctor's Provisional Date of Registration (unless, where the
Doctor has trained abroad, this date is not available, in which case Date of Full
Registration is to be used).
The Seniority screen allows the recording of:
the GP's Principal Start Date;
Pre principal Reckonable NHS Service periods start and end dates; and
any career break periods while working as a GP Principal.
The fields below are pre filled with data from GD page 1 to reduce the need for manual
input:
Pre principal Reckonable Service Start Date, which defaults to the Date of
Registration;
Pre principal Reckonable Service End date, which defaults to the day before GP
Start; and
GP Principal Start Date, which defaults to GP Start.
The data on GD Page 4 will require confirmation with the GP practices and will require
amendment where:
the doctor has had prior services at another PCO or Agency, and the GP Start
Date on GD Page 1 is not the date when the GP Started initially working as a
GP;
the doctor has not worked continuously for the NHS for the period from
Registration to becoming a GP; and/or
the doctor has had a break (or breaks) in service since becoming a GP.
NOTE
The Seniority Screen replaces the Seniority fields on Page 3. Any Amendment to
Page 3 requires the removal of entries from the Seniority fields on that page.
