Start date of Stage 1

Start date of Stage 3 ends Stage 2. 

Start date of Stage 4 ends Stage 3.

Screen instead. Seniority entries should be removed from this page.

Postgraduate Education Allowance 

The five most recent claim dates are displayed, with the most recent first.  No claims 

may overlap. 

Qtrs paid 

If this marker shows that a particular claim for Postgraduate Education Allowance has 

been paid, then the claim dates may not be changed. 

Delayed Retirement 

Delayed Retirement Payments have been introduced in to encourage older doctors to 

remain in service.  The Delayed Retirement field appears at the bottom of page 3 of 

the GD screen, for English doctors only. 

A GP in England is eligible to receive Delayed Retirement Payments if he/she has a 

commitment greater than 24% and: 

if the GP is between the ages of 60 and 64 at the Start of the Current Quarter; 

or the GP's 60th birthday occurs before the end of the Current Quarter. 

On the line below the Delayed Retirement field, the GP's Date of Birth, the Start of 

Quarter Date and the GP's age at Start of Quarter are all displayed. 

Full Rate 

The Delayed Retirement `Full Rate' field must contain either 

Y

 or 

N

 for eligible doctors.  

For ineligible doctors, it must be left blank. 

Golden Thanks 

Golden Thanks Payments have been introduced in Wales to encourage older doctors 

to remain in service.  The Golden Thanks fields appear at the bottom of page 3 of the 

GD screen, for Welsh doctors only. 

A GP in Wales is eligible to receive Golden Thanks Payments if he/she is an 

unrestricted non salaried GP and: 

if the GP is between the ages of 55 and 64 at the Start of the Current Quarter; 

or the GP's 55th birthday occurs before the end of the Current Quarter. 

GPs who are Job Sharers are eligible for the Golden Thanks Reduced Rate. 

On the line below the Golden Thanks fields, the GP's Date of Birth, the Start of Quarter 

Date and the GP's age at Start of Quarter are all displayed.
