Code of Job sharing GP 

Mandatory if flexible work is `Job share'.  Must be a valid GP Code.

Golden Hello Start Date 

This is an optional date field in DD.MM.CCYY format.  Golden Hellos are a once 

only payment made to new doctors commencing work in General Practice.  Golden 

Hellos are payable to GP Principals (working under GMS or PMS Contracts), 

Assistant GPs and/or salaried doctors (on supplementary lists) providing Primary Care 

in a `secondary performer' role.  

A doctor receiving a Golden Hello undertakes to provide services for a minimum of 

two years.  Doctors leaving within a two year period (of qualifying for their Golden 

Hello) are subject to a `clawback' of a portion of the original payment.  The amount of 

the clawback will depend on the period of time worked , decreasing to zero at the end 

of the two year qualifying period. 

The date entered in this field will be used as the Pay Date for an automatically created 

GO screen record (for a GMS GP), or a PV screen record (for a PMS GP).  It will be 

used as the basis for the clawback recovery if the GP leaves General Practice within 2 

years. 

This field must be left blank for  ZZZ  dummy GPs, who are not eligible for Golden 

Hello payments. 

The Golden Hello Start Date cannot be before 01.04.2001, or before the GP's Start 

Date. 

Golden Hello Charge Code 

The Golden Hello Charge Code refers to the amount the GP will be paid, as specified 

on the GR screen with qualifier `GOLDH' (see Chapter 9 of this section).  Four 

Golden Hello Charge Codes   A, B C and D   are available on the GR screen.  Note 

that the  Standard + Additional  amounts (Charge codes B and D) apply to PMS GPs 

only. 

This field must be left blank for  ZZZ  dummy GPs, who are not eligible for Golden 

Hello payments. 

NOTE 

Golden Hello payment details can only be amended on this screen, and 

only before payment.  In this case, the linked payment record on the GO / 

PV screen will automatically be amended accordingly.  Golden Hello 

payment details cannot be amended on the GO / PV screen.   

A GP s Golden Hello details can be deleted only before payment.  To 

remove a GP s Golden Hello details, blank out the Golden Hello Start 

Date and Charge Code on this screen.  The linked payment record on the 

GO / PV screen will then be deleted automatically.
