GD SCREEN

          The GP must provide Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Management 

(CDM) programmes for Asthma and Diabetes. 

          The GP must be entitled to at least Year 1 Postgraduate Education Allowance. 

These conditions may be waived if the GP has demonstrated that reasonable efforts 

have been made to achieve the requirements.  If this is the case, the 

`Dep. Override'

field should be set to `Y'. 

If nothing is entered in the 

Dep. Override

 field, it will default to `N' (no override of ED 

Deprivation conditions for this GP). 

Date First Registered 

The date when the GP was first registered in this country as a practising GP.  This field 

is optional. 

End Date 

Termination of GP contract.  This is the date a GP ceases to practice within the 

organisation or a fringe organisation, and must not overlap any IOS claims, or be before 

the previous quarter. 

NOTE 

If a GP has received a Golden Hello payment (set on GD screen 3: see 

pages 1 14 and 1 15), and the GP is ended less than 2 years after his/her 

Golden Hello Start Date, a `clawback' payment will be recovered from the 

GP subject to the following rules: 

the percentage of the original Golden Hello payment to be clawed 

back will be calculated; 

an appropriate query message will be displayed; and 

a negative payment recovery record will be written to the GO 

screen for a GMS GP 

It is not possible to generate PV clawbacks for PMS GPs, since PV ad hoc 

adjustments are only permitted in the current payment month.   

A Golden Hello Payment will be clawed back when a GP is ended (except 

when the Reason for Leaving is Death, or to take another post within the 

same PCO or within another PCO) and is subject to the following rules:

The Length of Service is based on the GP's Golden Hello Start Date.  The 

amount to be clawed back will be determined by matching the GP's 

Golden Hello Start Date and Charge Code to those on the GR (Payment 

Rates) screen and applying the above rules.   

If clawback arises when the GP is ended, a Query Message will display on 

GD Screen 1 the percentage of clawback appropriate.
