Country Birth 

Mandatory field giving the GP's country of birth.  Country codes may be viewed on the 

FC screen. 

Start Date 

The Start Date must be correct, as it will be used for Finance Claims and Allowances.  It 

cannot be changed after further details committing the GP to this date have been entered 

on other screens, e.g. partnership start, claims.  This date must not overlap any IOS 

claims. 

This date also defines a default Superannuation Start Date.  The Superannuation Start date 

can be viewed, and amended if necessary, on the GB (Payment Details) screen.

Mandatory field.  Possible codes, which may be viewed on the FC screen, are as follows.

PMS Pilot 

This field indicates whether the GP is a member of a PMS practice.  Its default setting is 

`N'.  It  can be set to `Y', or to `P' for a Pool GP used for patient registration. 

Sal PMS (Y/N) 

This field records whether a member of a PMS practice is a salaried employee of that 

practice.  It can be set to `Y' (for a PMS doctor only) or to `N'. 

Q Code 

Must be a valid Q code or a valid Scottish HA Cipher. 

Dep. Override

This field can be set to `Y' to indicate that the single handed GP is to be paid 

Enumeration District based Deprivation in full, despite the fact the conditions for 

achieving full payment may not have been met.  

Conditions governing full payment for ED based Deprivation are as follows: 

          The GP must offer Child Health Surveillance. 

          The GP must offer Contraceptive Services. 

          The GP must achieve at least the lower rate target (50%) for Cytology. 

          The GP must achieve at least lower rate target (70%) for both 2 year old and 

Pre School Booster Child Immunisations.
