4. Installing E FixIT
4.1 Installing the component package
Note:
This chapter provides instructions for JBuilder 6 installation. The process is a lot similar for other
Java development tools; the component packages are added into the development environment.
1.
Download needed files (see chapter 3.2).
2.
The packages are installed as any other third party component library into JBuilder.
Start JBuilder.
Select
Configure Libraries
from
Tools
menu.
Select
New...
and type a name for the library.
XFIJ Components
, for example.
The location can be
User Home
if you do not plan to share the packages with an another
developer. Click OK and the new library should appear in the left panel.
Select the newly created library and click
Class
tab in
Library Settings
right.
Now add all the downloaded JAR files with
Add...
button.
When you start a new project, you must include the library you just created in the project. You can
automate this by selecting
Default Project Properties
from
Project
menu and clicking
Required
Libraries
tab. Include the library by clicking
Add...
button.
3.
Select Tools and Configure Palette. Click
Add...
and create a new tab page. You can choose to put
all Web FixIT components into same page (XFIJ, for example) or you can create a separate pages for
database connection components (xfijcore) and other components (xfijholder). To add the components,
click
Add components
and select the just created library with
Select library...
button. Also select
the correct palette page.
JBuilder5 or later:
You can select all the XFIJ components in the packages by selecting
JavaBeans in jar manifest
only
and clicking
Add from selected library.
JBuilder4 or earlier:
Click
Install...
and select
xfij
.
Now you should see nodes such as
awt
,
core
,
editor
,
event
etc... The components are in these nodes:
database components in
core
, AWT based components in
awt
and Swing based components in
swing
.
The component names are:
Core:
WRPCBroker, XfijDeviceDialog, XfijFinder, XfijPassword, XfijPrint, XfijReport,
XfijSource, XfijSearch
Holder:
CheckboxHolder, ComboboxHolder, ComboboxLookupHolder, DateTimeHolder,
