For our purposes we specified only four options for the configure command:

bash$ configure   with ibm db2=/home/db2inst1/sqllib \

  with mysql \

  with apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs \

  with config file path=/etc

where the 

  with ibm db2

 option specifies the location of the DB2 Application 

Development Client

 instance on the machine, and the 

  with apxs

 option 

specifies the Apache's apxs tool, which allows you to build extension modules 

to add to Apache's functionality.

The Application Development Client or support can be installed as an option with the DB2 Server.
