I have already a cable DSL connection. Can I use now both services simultaneously, to 

provide 2x768 kBit/s? 

No. To combine the speed of both connections, it is only possible if you use the two services on two 

separate PCs (at 768 kBit/s max. on each PC). If you combined both services, the service ASTRA 

Broadband would use your cable DSL connection as a back channel and since this back channel 

offers already a sufficient bandwidth the satellite link would not be fully utilized. A total download 

speed of more than 768 kit/s is currently not feasible.

Can I watch satellite TV on my PC while I'm surfing the Internet? 

No. The available DVB adapters for PCs support only the reception of one single satellite transponder 

at a time. These transponders in general carry either TV or Internet data. A second DVB adapter or a 

separate digital receiver can resolve this problem.

Why do I have to register? 

Before you use ASTRA proxy client for the first time it is necessary that you register once the DVB 

adapter (MAC address) that you use. At the same time you enter a user name and password for the 

authorization with ASTRA platform. You have always the possibility to change your user information or 

to register new hardware.

How can I know if am logged into the service? 

After the first connection to the ASTRA Broadband service, the login will be done automatically if you 

have selected the option  reminder password . If this option is not selected the login page will appears. 

The test consists into starting your ISP, and after launching your browser. If you see the following 

picture, you are well connected to the service.  

If you see the second one, you need to set up your browser correctly. 

Select the menu option Start >Programs >ASTRA Proxy client >Installation checker. 

This tool will help you to set up your applications.
