How can I control the satellite acceleration? 

It is only necessary once to login to the service when you establish the very first dial up connection to 

the Internet after a successful installation. The entered user name and password are stored in the 

recv.ini file in an encrypted way and will be used for all subsequent dial up attempts. 

If you decide not to take advantage of the satellite acceleration at some point or if you only want to use 

it during longer downloads, you can right click on the ASTRA proxy icon in the system notification area 

(small satellite dish) and either enable or disable the item  Satellite . Double clicking on the icon has 

the same effect. If the small satellite icon is crossed out, the satellite acceleration is disabled.

What's the purpose of the RECV.INI file? 

The purpose of the file RECV.INI is the configuration of the client software for the ASTRA proxy. The 

file itself is subdivided in several sections. The single parameters must be located in the appropriate 

section. You can comment out a complete line by putting a # at the beginning of the line. Blank lines 

will be ignored. 

The RECV.INI should look like this:

Please note that the parameters multicast_receive_interface and interface_address can vary from the 

values above. In any case, these two parameters must correspond to the IP address of the DVB 

receiver you use.

What about Internet applications other than the web browser or FTP Client? Can they also be 

accelerated? 

In principle, all Internet applications that allow the configuration of a proxy can be used with . 

If that is not possible, you can deploy a helper application, such as SocksCap, which is able to forward 

all traffic of an Internet application to a SOCKS proxy server.
