6.3 Wrong IP address
If your IP address is a public
address, your system could be
slower than normal. It will be
better to assign a private address
instead as shown in the following
example.
Example: 192.168.46.21
Note:
Private IP addresses are
assigned the following ranges:
10.0.0.0 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 192.168.255.255
If the IP address of your DVB adapter is not within one of the ranges above it is a public IP address
and it is recommended that you change it to a private IP address (see page 44 for details).
Your DVB S device may have a public IP address if you failed to restart your PC after you installed the
DVB S device drivers. In this case, you should restart your PC, and relaunch the ASTRA proxy client
installation routine (see Section 3).
If you relaunch the ASTRA proxy client installation routine, follow the instructions from Section 3.
6.3.1 Deactivated binding
If the TCP/IP protocol is not correctly bound to your DVB card, you will get the following message:
