The Future According to the Book of Daniel 279
{11:24} And he will enter into rich and resourceful cities, and he will do
what his fathers never did, nor his fathers fathers. He will scatter their
spoils, and their prey, and their riches, and will form a plan against the most
steadfast, and this until a time.
The Antichrist is remarkably successful in warfare because he has the help of
devils. He overcomes weapons and armies which it would seem he should
be unable to overcome. His opponents and their weapons are shattered
before him, and so are the leaders. He is practiced at deception and deceitful
stratagems. Some say that he will use youths as soldiers in battle. He
pretends to ally with a leader, then deceives him and uses a small people to
defeat him. The small people could be a discontented minority group, or it
could refer to the Jewish people.
The Antichrist uses new and unusual strategies. He crushes his enemies into
pieces and then tramples even the residue. He takes the spoils of his battles
and scatters them in order to win favor among those he conquers. Thus,
unlike previous kings of the North, he is able to hold the kingdoms he
conquers.
He forms a plan against the most steadfast, that is, against the strongest of
the ten kingdoms, especially the kingdom which is the last bastion of
Christianity, the strength, which is the kingdom of the South, as well as
against the Meridian and the East.
{11:25} And his strength and his heart will be enraged against the king of
the South with a great army. And the king of the South will be provoked
into going to war by having many allies and exceedingly good
circumstances, and yet these will not stand, for they will form plans against
him.
{11:26} And those who eat bread with him will crush him, and his army will
be suppressed, and very many will die, having been executed.
The South is the Middle East, the last place on earth where Christianity still
is tolerated and has some significant influence. The Antichrist rules over one
of the ten kingdoms, the North, and he attacks and conquers the South, the
kingdom of Christianity first. He does this because he is evil and he
perceives the homeland of good Christians as his natural enemy. Also,
because the North and the South have been at war for generations, he can
most easily lead the people of his kingdom against them in war. And he
attacks the South because, through the experience of many generations of
