From the Book of Revelation 165
kings.' (Rev 10:11). These events, which will occur a long time after the
sixth trumpet and a short time before the seventh trumpet, include a time of
great suffering for the Church.
The 3 Years (Rev 11:1 3)
`...and they will trample over the holy city for forty two months. And I
will grant my two witnesses power to prophesy for one thousand two
hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.' (Rev 11:2 3).
This is the time of the Church's Crucifixion, the last half of the nearly
seven years of the Church's great suffering. This time is described by Daniel
as half of the week of years (Dan 9:27), meaning half of a week of years;
and also described as a time, and times, and half a time (Dan 7:25). This
1260 days is included in the 1290 days of desolation mentioned by Daniel
(Dan 12:11). The additional 30 days of events occur after the two prophets
have finished their prophesying.
These two witnesses are the two prophets of the book of Revelation, who
were preceded and foreshadowed by Moses and Aaron. The plagues which
Moses and Aaron brought upon Egypt were like the plagues which these
two prophets will send upon the earth. Their prophesying will begin in the
mid A.D. 2430's, according to the current (Gregorian) Christian calendar.
These two prophets will have power to prophesy during the last half of the
nearly seven years that Antichrist will rule over almost the whole world.
When Antichrist decides to intensify his persecution of Christians and the
Faith, about midway through his reign, then God will send the two prophets
to strengthen, console, and guide the faithful during this, the darkest of
times.
The Plagues of the Two Prophets (Rev 11:4 6)
They have power to shut the sky, that no rain may fall during the days of
their prophesying, and they have power over the waters to turn them into
blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.
(Rev 11:6).
There will be an extensive drought and an associated famine during the
time of the two prophets, which is the time of the Church's Crucifixion. This
drought was foreshadowed by the drought which was brought upon Israel
by the prophet Elijah (Luke 4:25; 1 Kings 17:1; 18:1). Elijah was a man of
like nature with ourselves and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and
for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. (James 5:17 18).
Elijah's drought was a living prophecy of the 3 years of the Church's
greatest suffering. The famine of this time period coincides with the loss of
