From the Book of Exodus 103
Church's great suffering will be years when Christianity is oppressed by the
power of sin in the world. And as the time of the Church's Passion
approaches, sin will increase in the world, as will persecutions and sufferings
for Christians.
Near the end of the Israelites' time in Egypt, God sent plagues and
sufferings through Moses and Aaron. At first, both the Israelites and the
Egyptians suffered from these plagues. But the last of these punishments
from God were given only to the Egyptians. These events are a
foreshadowing of the suffering of the Church and the subsequent
punishment of the wicked. At first, when God's servants suffer, many who
are not holy will suffer with them. In the end, though, only the wicked will
be given the last and the worst of the punishments from God.
These sufferings and punishments from God occur twice in the future.
Once, at the end of the Forty Years, when there will be a great persecution
of Christians and a terrible war, followed by the punishment of the enemies
of God. And again, in the 25th century, the Church will suffer Her Passion
and Crucifixion, followed by the punishment of Antichrist and his followers.
As the Israelites left the slavery of Egypt to enter the Promised Land of
Israel, so will the Church survive the time of suffering to enter into the time
of holiness. After the Forty Years, the Church will rejoice in a brief time of
holiness and peace. And after the Church's great suffering, Her Passion and
Crucifixion, the Church will enter into the Promised Land, the time of great
holiness and peace on earth, the Millennium.
Moses and Aaron and the Two Prophets
Then Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the
people of Israel. And Aaron spoke all the words which the L
ORD
 had
spoken to Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people. (Ex 4:29 30).
`And I will grant my two witnesses power to prophesy for one thousand
two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.' (Rev 11:3).
Moses and Aaron are like the two prophets in the book of Revelation.
Moses could turn water from the Nile into blood (Ex 4:9). The two prophets
will also turn water into blood (Rev 11:6). The two prophets will have power
over fire, water, and plague, and will have power to smite the earth with
every plague, as often as they desire. (Rev 11:6). Moses and Aaron sent
sufferings of fire, water, and plague upon the Egyptians, just as the two
prophets will do.
In Revelation, Jerusalem is allegorically referred to as Egypt (Rev 11:8)
and is the place where the two prophets will give witness against evil. Moses
and Aaron were also two prophets sent by God to work signs and wonders
in Egypt.
