From the Book of Daniel 95
Antichrist Makes War Against the Church
`And arms will take his side, and they will pollute the sanctuary of the
strength, and they will take away the continual sacrifice and will replace it
with the abomination of desolation. And the impious within the testament
will imitate deceitfully, but the people, knowing their God, will persevere
and will act. And the teachers among the people will teach many, but they
will be ruined by the sword, and by fire, and by captivity, and by assaults for
many days.' (Dan 11:31 33).
Here is the beginning of the 3 years of the Church's Crucifixion, that
portion of the nearly seven years of great suffering which contains the worst
of the worst of the sufferings. Antichrist now increases his persecution of
Christians and attacks the Church with great force and with deceitfulness.
He aims to destroy the Church completely.
The Antichrist uses laws and law enforcement to support the abomination
of desolation, which is a perverse imitation of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
The abomination is set up in many churches and sanctuaries in place of the
Eucharist. False worship devised by heretics and apostates takes the place of
the true Mass. But the faithful of the Church persevere; they neither receive
the abomination nor participate in false worship. But the Antichrist uses the
force of arms against them. True teaching is still found within the Church,
though there are always some false teachers who imitate deceitfully. Many
faithful Christians are killed, imprisoned, and assaulted during this time, the
three and one half years of the Church's greatest suffering, the Crucifixion of
the Body of Christ on earth.
In the book of Leviticus, the Israelites are instructed to set up a continual
burnt offering, a light which is never allowed to go out. They are also
instructed to offer to God twelve cakes of fine flour. This continual burnt
offering and this holy bread of the Presence, kept by the Jewish priests, were
a foreshadowing of the Holy Eucharist (1 Samuel 21:1 6; Leviticus 24:9; Mt
12:1 8). Therefore, the prophecy of Daniel concerning the continual burnt
offering refers to the Holy Eucharist.
Not only does Antichrist come against the Church with force of arms,
weapons, and soldiers, but also through deceit. He gives his support to those
who have forsaken the covenant of the sanctuary, in other words, to
heretics and apostates who oppose the teaching of the Church. Antichrist
will strengthen and reward these apostates. He uses them as a tool with
which to harm Christ's Church.
These false Christians had devised the abomination, the false Eucharist,
some time earlier. The abomination is devised by unfaithful Christians, not
