From the Book of Daniel 81
Notice that this man is both a monarch with a birthright to lead, and also a
democratically elected leader.
The ram has no power to stand against the he goat. Thus, the Arabs will
be soundly defeated by the attacking nations led by the great monarch. The
Arab forces will be cast down to the ground and trampled upon. And as for
the two horns, the two leaders of the Arabs, they will be broken. They will
lose all power and be killed.
To those Arabs who might read this book, I say, God will first use the
Arab nations as a rod to punish the Christian nations. And many Arabs,
when they have power over other peoples, will do what is evil and offensive
to God. Their defeat in the war of the great monarch is God's punishment
for their sins which they committed when they were given power for a time.
During this time of the Forty Years, some Arabs will do what is evil and will
exalt themselves. But other Arabs will pray and will seek God; they will
avoid doing evil, and will instead choose to do what is right and good. These
Arabs shall be blessed by God. Again I say, they shall be well blessed.
After the Forty Years
But the he goat among she goats became exceedingly great, and when he
had prospered, the great horn was shattered, and four horns were rising up
beneath it by means of the four winds of heaven. (Dan 8:8).
After the war at the end of the Forty Years, the kingdom established by
the monarch will be great and strong. It will encompass many nations and
many peoples, including Europe, parts of Eastern Europe, the Middle East
(including Israel), and northern Africa. The monarch will be a great leader
during this time of peace and rebuilding. But when he loses power, the
kingdom will be divided into four parts. Then there will be, instead of one
great leader standing out above the others, four leaders. Each leader will
have much power over a large area. These will not be the only leaders in the
world, but they will be among most powerful ones.
And since, having been shattered, there grew four in its place, four kings
will rise up from his people, but not in his strength. And after their reign,
when iniquities will be increased, there will arise a king of shameless face
and understanding negotiations. (Dan 8:22 23).
The four kingdoms which follow after the reign of the great monarch will
not be as benevolent and holy as in his reign; neither will the reign of any
kingdom go to the son of the monarch (Dan 11:4). Two of these leaders,
unfortunately, will be women. None of the four will rule as the great
monarch ruled. These four are not devout Catholics; some are even among
those who rebel against Church teaching. Eventually, after hundreds of
years, these four areas and the rest of the world become ruled by the ten
