7.7 AVG DataCenter Maintenance
After a considerable period of AVG Anti Virus Remote Administration use (i.e. AVGADMIN use),
some inconsistencies or duplication in the AVG DataCenter may appear. Such a situation makes
increasing demands on the network load, and the maintenance options are aggravated. For easy AVG
DataCenter maintenance we have prepared several scripts that will help you perform the frequently
required maintenance operations. During maintenance (when a script is active) the AVG DataCenter is
locked, and users cannot access it.
The following scripts are available:
Removing test/scheduled task duplication from the AVG DataCenter
This script will remove all tests and scheduled tasks with the same ID number. Some tests may
have remained as a residue of past errors and discrepancies in program versions.
Removing multiple user/station membership in groups
This script will detect stations and users that are registered as members in more than one group,
and they will be removed from all groups except the most recent.
Removing objects whose owner is no longer in the AVG DataCenter
This script will remove all settings, tests, and scheduled tasks that were configured by users who
are not present in the AVG DataCenter any more.
Unification of scheduled tasks with the same settings
This script will check each scheduled task setting. Tasks with the same settings will then appear in
the Global settings listed in one line, and will be unified.
Unification of test with the same settings
This script will check each scheduled test setting. Tests with the same settings will then appear in
the Global settings listed in one line, and will be unified.
