CSS
Content Services Switch. A server load balancer that routes traffic to the
appropriate Web server based on the URL of the request. Also known as a URL
switch, Web content switch and Layer 4 7 switch, this switch is designed
to provide improved load balancing for a Web site, because different requests
can be routed to the most efficient source for delivering their content.
change
A user initiated action that alters the existing state of the network on one or more
managed devices.
change record
A unit of communication that documents an alteration of the existing state of the
network on one or more managed devices.
channel
A path along which information (such as data) passes.

Protocol
Cisco IOS Software
The Cisco system software that allows centralized, integrated, and automated
installation and management of internetworks, while ensuring support for a wide
variety of protocols, media, services, and platforms.
client
Node or software program (front end device) that requests services from a
server.
client/server
Term that describes distributed computing (processing) network systems in
which transaction responsibilities are divided into two parts: client (front end)
and server (back end). Both terms (client and server) can be applied to software
programs or actual computing devices.
community strings
Text strings that act as a key to authenticate messages sent between the network
management station and devices containing an SNMP agent. Community strings
allow you to limit access to network devices.
content rule
Used by the Content Services Switch, it is a hierarchical command set
containing individual rules that describe which content (for example, .html files)
is accessible by visitors to the web site, how the content is mirrored, on which
server the content resides, and how the Content Services Switch should process
requests for the content. Each rule set must have an owner.
