Understanding IP Address Grouping
HSE discovery is responsible for the default grouping of IP addresses into a
service chassis. HSE is able to discover physical web servers if they are added as
a seed and they have SNMP support.
If a real service IP address has not been discovered, then it is assumed to be a
service chassis of its own. If a web server has not been discovered, you can create
or edit a service chassis (see
Editing a Service Chassis, page 5 81
).
You can only change the name of a service chassis and the set of the IP addresses.
An IP address can belong to only one service chassis. Therefore, you can move IP
addresses from one service chassis to another. There is no delete service chassis
option, but an empty service chassis (one that does not contain any IP addresses)
will be automatically removed.
