Configuring Server Load Balancing Services

Note

You must provide device credentials for the server load balancers and discover 

them before you can view them

.

Use this option to change the service properties on the following server load 

balancers:

Content Services Switch (CSS)

  When you create an owner you enable the CSS to identify the entity (for 

example, person, company name, or other meaningful title) that owns 

content rules. When you create a CSS service, you identify the service 

and enable the CSS to recognize it. You can then apply content rules to 

services that allow the CSS to direct or deny requests for content to or 

from the service.

  When you edit the owner or CSS service you reconfigure the defaults 

assigned to the entity. You can also alter binding associations between 

services and content rule (known as configuring using the add service 

CLI command). 

  After you make any changes through the Hosting Solution Engine, you 

can save the entire running configuration to NVRAM. This is similar to 

copying the running configuration to the startup configuration command.

  When you delete a CSS service you remove the service from all content 

rules to which the service has been added.

  Delete a redundant device pair.

Caution

After you delete a service using Hosting Solution Engine, you cannot retrieve the 

service information. 

LocalDirector

  You can create, edit, or delete virtual and real servers.

  You can bind and unbind a real server to a virtual server.

  After you make any changes through the Hosting Solution Engine, you 

can save the entire running configuration to NVRAM. This is similar to 

copying the running configuration to the startup configuration command.
