Receiving PIX Device Messages
Configuring the PIX Syslog Receiver
The Hosting Solution Engine's syslog receiver processes messages from PIX
firewall devices. These messages can then be viewed as reports (see
PIX Flow,
page 6 4
.)
Setting up and receiving syslog messages is a two step process:
1. Each PIX device in the network must be configured to send out syslog
messages to the receiver using PIX CLI. (For information, see
Setting Up
Your Network, page 4 10
.)
2. PIX firewall devices must be added to the receiver.
The PIX Syslog window contains the following links:

Receiver Options
Use this option to limit the number of
syslog messages archived on the system.

Add PIX
Use this option to add PIX firewall devices
to the receiver.

Use this option to remove PIX firewall
