Entering CSS Redundant Device Information
With CSS redundant devices, the primary and backup CSS share the same IP
address. As a result of this sharing, the Hosting Solution Engine requires you to
enter the management interface IP address of each device.
The CSS management interface IP is not routable, so at least one HSE interface
needs to be in the same subnet in order to manage the redundant CSS pair.
If you are not sure about how to determine the management interface of the CSS
device, see the CSS documentation on Cisco.com.
Procedure
Step 1
After you have added the CSS seed devices, select Devices >Device
Management >Device Redundancy.
Step 2
Click Add to add your redundant devices.
If you want to create a CSS VIP redundancy, see
CSS VIP Redundancy,
page 5 84
.
Step 3
Enter your CSS pair name, select your device pair from the listed devices, then
click Next.
Step 4
Select the validate device credentials check box and click Next.
Step 5
Click Finish after reviewing the verification summary window if device
redundancy was successful. If the task was not successful, click Cancel or Back
and fix the cause of the failure, then complete the steps again.
